Electoral Commission Finally Breaks Silence On Bobi Wine-Kibalama NUP Confusion

After convening a delegates conference last month Bobi Wine was fired as the party’s president but retained as the party’s secretary for foreign affairs, Rubongoya was also dumped as the party general secretary but also retained as secretary of research among other changes.

After making themselves as the new NUP principle and General Secretary, Moses Nkonge Kibalama and Paul Simbwa Kagombe took further steps by writing to electoral commission to update their names as the party heads and also begged European Union to recognize them but not Bobi Wine’s faction based in Kamwokya.

After Kibalama unveiling his own party headquarters in Lubaga Kampala and also urging Bobi Wine, and all leaders elected on the NUP ticket to report to his office, electoral commission has finally opened up the chaos surrounding National Unity Platform.

According to Electoral Commission, they received a letter from Kibalama’s right hand man Paul Simbwa Kagombe informing them about changes in the party leadership and the national delegates conference.

The commission says it will consider the contents of the letter in regards to Constitution of the republic of Uganda, Political party and organizations act, the NUP party constitution and all the records they have and will respond accordingly.
