Mubende residents are in shock after a man set himself ablaze.
According to the residents of Myanzi village, this young man set himself on fire after a dispute with his two wives, who had been staying with him in the house.
The young man who has killed himself has been identified only as Frank, 26 years old, a truck driver, and it is alleged that he married two women and put them in the same house, but because he could not take care of them, his father ordered him to let them go, which he refused to do.
The chairman of Myanzi village, Daudi Bukenya, said they had been discussing the family issues of this family with Frank’s father, and they also went ahead and took money and gave it to one of Frank’s wives and advised her to return to her parents’ home in Masaka, where she came from.
Bukenya said that at the time Frank committed suicide, they were planning to get money and send his second wife back to her parents’ home.
He said the next meeting about this issue was to take place this afternoon, but Frank did not wait for it and committed suicide.
