Košarka

Košarka is the term used for basketball in several languages, including Croatian and Serbian. It refers to a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by throwing a ball through the opposing team’s hoop. The game is played on a rectangular court with a hoop elevated to a height of 10 feet (3.05 meters) at each end. Points are scored in various ways, with shots made from beyond the three-point line earning more points than those made from within it. The objective of košarka is not only to outscore the opponent but also to showcase teamwork, strategy, and individual skills such as dribbling, shooting, and defending. The sport is governed by specific rules, including fouls, violations, and game play structure, including quarters and overtime. Košarka is popular globally and is played at both professional and amateur levels, with various leagues and tournaments, including the NBA (National Basketball Association) and FIBA (International Basketball Federation) competitions.
