Speaking on the issue of re-election or retirement, President Museven was responding to a question on Uganda’s failure to pass the test of peaceful transition.
Speaking at a news conference at the State House in Entebbe, Museveni said the time to think and talk about running for office or retiring had not yet come, with serious issues to be addressed, especially those that boost the economy.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has also announced that he will order all the army to withdraw from land disputes because the army should protect the country and not get involved in land issues.
Land-grabbing issues are one of the most frequently asked questions by journalists, based on allegations that the military has been used extensively to loot and evict people from their land.
Museveni also asked journalists and some security forces to find out the truth about the arrest of Olivia Kwagala, following a journalist who told him that the girl was being tried in a military court and allegedly arrested for political reasons.
Museven also ordered people who claim their loved ones have disappeared to go to the police and report their cases and keep their evidence that they did report.
President Museveni also promised Ugandans that they should not worry about the pressures placed on the country because of the anti-gay law.
