President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has released a list of suspected rebels killed by the UPDF since it was deployed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to fight the rebels, who are based in Congo to rob Uganda.

The UPDF was recently deployed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to fight the ADF rebels who are hiding in the country, to harm Congolese and Ugandan citizens.

President Museveni said that since September 16,2023 they used air strikes and other tactics to kill more than 200 suspected rebels in Congo, but the list released by Museveni included the names of 57 rebels.

2. Mutagubya Ismail who was the deputy commander of the rebels.

However, President Museven said he was not sure whether these were the real names of the militants, although they are known in the insurgency.

The ADF has been carrying out attacks in various parts of the country and several people have been killed and others injured.

Meanwhile, one of the ADF commanders known as Kamusi was arrested after being wounded in the clashes between the UPDF and the rebels ,and two of the rebels were killed.

The fighting took place in the Kibaale forest.

On December 5, 2023, Kamusi and his bodyguards attacked Biira Betty at Kanyatete village in Kasese district and killed her, leaving her caretaker Masereka Harrison beheaded.

The two killed rebels who were guarding Kamusi were recovered with two rifles and 37 rounds of ammunition.

Col Deo Akiiki, Deputy UPDF spokesperson, said Kamusi’s arrest would help the army uncover more secrets of the rebels.
