Prof. Sudi Nangoli has taken over as the new Managing Director for Uganda Printing and Publishing Company (UPPC).
The institution acts as the Ugandan Security Printer and Publisher, providing printing and publishing services to the government and private individuals.
It also produces the Ugandan Gazette, which contains Notices, Government declarations and supplements, Bills, Statutes, Statutory instruments, and Legal Notices.
Nangoli takes over the office from Mr. Kenneth Oluka, who has been acting Managing director since 2021. Oluka will now head the Publishing section responsible for Operationalizing the publishing functions of the corporation.
Nangoli, while assuming office, committed himself to focusing on ICT Innovations in printing and publishing to compete on a global scale.
The position fell vacant after the arrest of Mr. Tom Davis Waswa, then MD, after fraud allegations marred the institution.
There are a number of projects that need priority, which include the printing of National IDs on behalf of NIRA-Uganda.
Oluka, while handing over the office, said the institution still grapples with a lack of cooperation amongst workers, which he said can be solved through encouraging teamwork and dialogue.
Mr. Joachim Buwembo, the Chairperson of the UPPC Board, thanked Oluka for steering the institution during these trying times.
