“This is to inform you that you have been relieved of your duties as a district Vice Chairperson and Secretary for Finance, Planning and Administration in Mbale district with immediate effect” Mafabi’s letter reads in part.
He added “this is in accordance with the 1995 constitution of the Republic of Uganda Article 187, 1(a) and the Local Government Act Cap 243, Section 20(a) as amended.”
Wamagale has been to told to handover office to his former boss with immediate effect.
“On the same note, you are required to hand over your office to me. I would like to thank you for the services rendered to this Local Government of Mbale during your tenure as Member of the District Executive Committee” the letter reads.
In 2013, Robert Wandwasi, the current Member of Parliament Bungokho South who was then the Vice Chairperson of Mbale district was sacked by the district council.
Wandwasi was however reinstated by the former Local Government Minister Adolf Mwesige just a week after his censure.
