Busoga’s Kyabazinga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, has urged for unity among Busoga leaders if the sub region’s progress and transformation are to be guided.
According to the Kyabazinga, authorities in Busoga must gather the people and friends of Busoga to direct the city’s development in order to reclaim its lost magnificence.
He made the appeal while hosting the Bishop of Busoga Diocese, Naimanhye Paul, and his clergy from Christ Cathedral Bugembe on Easter Monday at his Budhumbula Palace in Kamuli area.
In his speech, the Kyabazinga urged leaders and subjects to work together to continue growing and reforming the Busoga sub-region.
Kyabazinga cited 1 Corinthians 14:26 in his Bible, saying, “When you come together, each of you has a psalm, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, and an interpretation.” Let everything be done for edification; therefore, encourage one another to build one another up as you are.”
The Bishop of Busoga Diocese, Paul Samson Naimanhye, praised the Kyabazinga for inviting them to the Budhumbula Palace to celebrate and sing Easter melodies.
Naimanhye prayed to God to grant Kyabazinga wisdom and knowledge because he is Busoga’s identity.
He went on to say that travelling to the palace was a gesture of solidarity and encouraged the Basoga to stay united.
The Kyabazinga Affairs Minister, Owek. Yudaya Babirye, called upon the Basoga to always implement the directives and advice from the Kyabazinga.
Joan Machora Kitto, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Busoga Kingdom, expressed dismay over climate change challenges affecting the people and urged leaders to mobilize people to continue planting trees and a lot of food to avoid famine.
Dr. Joseph Muvawala, the Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom, who was joined by his second deputy, Osman Ahmed Noor, thanked Busoga Diocese for holding the special prayers at Kyabazinga’s Budhumbula Palace in Kamuli.
Muvawala commended the government for carrying out its development and transformation plans in the Busoga subregion.
Pupils from the boarding schools Kamuli Boys and Kamuli Girls presented poems and sang songs with messages pushing Busoga leaders to unify.
The Issabalangira of Busoga, Samuel Zirabamuzale, Chief Nkono Mutyaba of Bukono Chiefdom, David Kantale Kazungu, Ministers from Busoga Kingdom, and clergy from Busoga diocese were all present during the special prayers. Following the prayers, the Kyabazinga cut a cake and fed his subjects.
