Speculations As Museveni’s Son Makes Huge Announcement

President Museveni’s Son who is at the rank of Lieutenant General in the country’s army has today controversially revealed how he’s retiring after serving for 28 years. Muhoozi who has been drawn into a lot of politics and controversy.

Muhoozi whom critics says he was rushed through army ranks by his father in preparation for him to ascend to presidency in case his father decides to retire after almost 4 decades in power. He holds the second top rank of Lieutenant General and he attained high ranks in a period of just three ranks, he was promoted to Major General in May 2016 and in 2019 he was promoted to Lieutenant General by his father.

What is already written on the walls in the corridors of power is that he has retired to fully concentrate on politics of succeeding his father not only personal businesses. His ambitions have always been amplified for almost 10 years since Gen David Sejusa revealed in a controversial letter in 2013 that president Museveni was grooming his son to take over power after him in what he termed as the MUHOOZI PROJECT, the said letter led to censorship of Red pepper publications and Nalukolongo based Monitor publications.

The announcement by Muhoozi proves General David Sejusa who has been seeking retirement for over 20 years but all in vain was right in his letter addressed to the said media houses though he ended up in exile in the United Kingdom, lost his parliamentary seat where he was representing the UPDF but would later return after one year to Kampala.

Museveni who is now 78 and has ruled Uganda for over 35 years has always denied accusations of grooming his son to take over power after though his supporters like Balaam claim Muhoozi has all the qualifications and every right to stand in an election giving examples of the US where a former president’s son George Bush ruled the world super power yet even his father was president. They also sight examples of Kenya where Uhuru Kenyatta is current president yet his father is the founding president of the republic.

What does Muhoozi’s official entry into politics if indeed he’s joining place the Museveni die-hard who have always called him God, where does it place the power struggles in NRM? Where does it also place the opposition which has always made change a song but their fire is always extinguished by themselves through intrigue and divisions and also by Museveni’s security?

We wait to see how events will unfold in the days to come, keep it here.
