Midfielder Solomon Okwalinga has been named as the new team captain of Uganda premier league side – Mbarara City following the departure of Hillary Mukundane.
He will be deputized by fellow midfielders – Swalik Bebe Ssegujja and Pistis Barenge, and goalkeeper Martin Elungat as his first, second and third assistant captain in that order.
The attacking midfielder signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the Ankole Lions untill 2024 in August last year after rejoining the Mbarara based side in 2019 from Onduparaka.
He had first joined the club from Synergy FC in 2017 before the 26 year old secured a move to KCCA FC in 2018.
Mbarara city is apparently 12th on the UPL log with 15 points from 15 rounds
